At NAU21, we believe that true leadership extends beyond technology and innovation – it also encompasses a deep sense of responsibility towards society, culture, the economy, and the environment. Our commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility is not just a statement – it is a guiding principle embedded in our values and actions.
The UN Global Compact Network Portugal is a special initiative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations dedicated to sustainability, originally proposed by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan in the year 2000.
Established by a United Nations General Assembly resolution, it is built upon Ten Fundamental Principles spanning human rights, labour practices, environmental protection, and anti-corruption. These principles serve as a framework for integrating ethical, sustainable, and responsible practices into corporate strategies and operations. At NAU21, we take this responsibility seriously, ensuring that our work aligns with these global standards for a better, more sustainable future.
The Plataforma Portuguesa para a Integridade (PPI) is a national initiative dedicated to fostering integrity, transparency, ethics, and governance in business and society.
It unites 124 signatories of the Anti-Corruption Campaign, who collaborate through working groups to develop impactful projects that drive real change. As an active participant, NAU21 is committed to upholding these values in everything we do, ensuring that ethical business practices remain at the helm of our operations.
Recognising the importance of ethical guidelines in corporate environments, NAU21 actively contributed to the creation of the Guide to Designing Ethical Codes of Conduct, one of three essential documents in the Ethics and Integrity collection.
This initiative, developed through a partnership between PPI and APEE – Associação Portuguesa de Ética Empresarial (Portuguese Association of Corporate Ethics), provides businesses with a framework for fostering ethical decision-making and promoting integrity within their organisations. At NAU21, we embrace best practices while continuously refining and improving them to create meaningful impact.

Sustainability is a collective effort. We actively reduce waste, cut down on paper usage to a bare minimum, distribute reusable items, and implement eco-friendly office practices that align with our environmental commitment.
Raising awareness about social, environmental, and cultural causes is part of our DNA. Through internal and external initiatives, we shed light on issues that shape the way we live and work.
From donating food, clothing, and essential items to working alongside social institutions, we believe in extending a helping hand to those in need, making a tangible difference in our communities.
At NAU21, we believe in the power of sport – not only as a source of entertainment but as a crucial element in shaping strong values, teamwork, and social impact. Professional sports play a vital role in fostering discipline, inclusivity, and economic contribution.
For this reason, we actively support local sports initiatives, starting with youth teams that represent the future of athletic development. Currently, we are proud sponsors of:
- The young handball teams of Águas Santas;
- The handball teams of Boavista Futebol Clube;
- The recreational centre of Valongo, supporting athletes in the sport of skating.
Through these initiatives, we aim to provide young athletes with better conditions, encouraging fair play, dedication, and growth – values that are equally important in business and life.
