At NAU21, sustainability is more than a commitment. It's part of how we navigate, innovate and build the future. Inspired by the sea that defines our identity, we believe that creating technology also means creating a positive impact on the world around us. With this purpose in mind, we held our very first Sustainability Morning, a moment to share our progress and reflect on the journey ahead.
During the morning, we presented our 2025 Sustainability Report, highlighting the work carried out over the past year in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that guide our strategy:
SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being,
SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth,
SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
The morning also marked the announcement of a new commitment that will guide us throughout the year: SDG 14 – Life Below Water. As a company whose identity has always been closely connected to the sea, this was a natural step. Protecting marine ecosystems means protecting the very element that inspires our name, our culture and the way we see the future.
As a starting point for this new commitment, the team watched Ocean with David Attenborough, a powerful reminder that, despite the pressures they face, our oceans have an extraordinary capacity to recover when given the opportunity. Beyond the documentary itself, the conversation continued after the screening, encouraging further reflection on the current state of marine conservation in Portugal. Less than 10% of our country's waters currently benefit from effective protection, highlighting how much remains to be done to safeguard marine life.
Rather than simply presenting results, this initiative sought to inspire a simple question: What contribution can each of us make? More often than not, the answer lies in the small choices we make every day: reducing single-use plastics, choosing seafood from sustainable sources, or simply becoming more aware of the impact our decisions have on the oceans. Together, these small actions have the power to create meaningful change.
At NAU21, we will continue to sail with purpose, placing sustainability at the heart of our decisions and contributing to a more responsible future.
